As a candidate for King County Council in 2025, Maya Vengadasalam had a need for messaging that was easy to consume, and yet conveyed her broad array of policy proposals. To support these complex requirements, Bombastic was proud to craft a custom marketing and communications program.
Starting with a bright logo and branding suite, Bombastic created a multi-layered website that started with simple visual components to communicate her priorities. Then, for community members ready to dig in further, Bombastic worked with Maya and her campaign strategist to write compelling blog posts that built out details. In addition, woven throughout the website were testimonials and summaries of Maya’s community recognition. In this way, Maya could convey her objectives while demonstrating her experience and strong relationships across the region.
Next, Bombastic created several targeted print pieces. Strategically designed to target different audiences, they were used for in-person campaigning as well as via the mail. All these messaging components were rounded out by a dynamic social media messaging campaign that mixed in graphics, video, testimonials and a AMA session on Reddit to reach as many community members as possible.
While the election did not have the hoped for outcome, the carefully coordinated marketing and communications program increased Maya’s voting percentage by 14% over primary results, even as her opponent out spent her by a 4-to-1 ratio.
